The Sloburn Slow Dance Satellite
(impressions of a groupie)
By Nicole (aka Crash)

The Sloburn Slow Dance Satellite is a break from the hustle and bustle of Black Rock City. 24/7 it quietly keeps the cheezy slow dance songs coming for you, but you can only hear them when inside the little circle of x-mas lights.

Where is it?
At 11:55 pm and Hysteria, waaaaayyyyy out in the deep desert. Quite possibly, it is the last thing out there.

When is the music playing?
All day and all night, as soon as we get it up until after the temple burn.

Schwaaa??
That's right! Thanks to Papa Bear's (aka Kevin Sr.) genius engineering, that big yellow ball in the sky powers a continuously playing I-Pod through the magic of solar technology (and the campmates that add to the playlist).

What should I do while I'm up there?
The list is endless but may we suggest some slow dancing with friends, new and old. Group hugs, my personal favorite, save space, conserve heat, and help me balance when I am really drunk.

Wait, who thought of this cool idea?
Why, Kevin and our now very pregnant Lester!

I'm not quite sure how - other than they are the coolest. I guess you will just have to ask them when we all meet up there for a dance and a group hug.

How is it built?
You'll have to join us to find out. Perhaps you can be the lucky one who schleps all the stuff out there on the ice trike…. Or finds the exact placement to maximize the disco ball movements… Or pounds in the re-bar. Regardless, you'll need Kevin's burly muscle to get it in the last few inches.
